The inflection in her voice made the words sound precious and holy. Our little guy sat on the arm of her recliner and listened intently for a LONG time! I will treasure that memory (and photo) for years to come.

Great article! I especially appreciated your point that even though our culture tells us that reading to the Bible to kids will fail miserably, we are called to be counter-cultural. Let’s not underestimate our kids, and certainly never give up reading the Bible aloud to them just because some kids may be bored! The Bible is the LIVING Word of God, and our job in Children’s Ministry is to bring it alive for kids not shy away from it because kids today have been trained to be inattentive.
